The chopsticks are traditional utensils to eat in East Asia (China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam, the four "chopstick countries"). They are usually made of wood (if) and bamboo, which can be painted or lacquered to decorate them and make them waterproof.
In Japan it always place the pointed ends of chopsticks on a rest chopsticks when they are not used.
